Louisa Futbol Club

LFC tryouts are open to girls & boys, ages 9-18, who are looking to roster on our u10, u12, u14, u16 & u18/19 teams.

Date: Saturday, May 1, 2021

Time: 1:00-4:00pm

Location: Jouett Elementary School, 315 Jouett School Rd. Mineral, VA 23117

Rain/Make-up Date: 5/2/21 (1:30-4:30pm)

We strongly urge participants to arrive at least 30 min. early to complete their player registration & medical release.

TRYOUT OVERVIEW / PLAYER EVALUATION:

TECHNICAL: dribbling, passing, receiving, trapping,

TACTICAL: vision, decision making, knowledge of the game

PHYSICAL: speed, agility, strength, endurance

MENTAL: attitude, effort, sportsmanship, ability to follow instructions

Our tryout sessions are designed to evaluate and determine which players showcase the proper fundamentals, aptitude, and desire to play at the competitive levels of soccer.  Tryout participants should be prepared for a fun but challenging experience. Players need to have cleats, shin guards and a water bottle.

Those footballers selected to join Louisa FC will be notified within 5 days after tryouts have concluded. Players chosen will be required to participate in our (PDP) Player Developmental Program beginning June 7th. LFC Teams may also compete at summer tournaments (Aug.-Sept.) in preparation for our competitive fall travel season (Sept.-Nov.) NOTE:Travel Teams are selected on a competitive basis. Positions on a team MUST be earned. Just because a player may have played on a travel team last year does NOT guarantee him/her a place for the 2021/22 season.

Louisa FC – (2020) Fall Travel Soccer Tryout Update

Due to the current COVID-19  restrictions, LFC has decided it’s best to change up our traditional tryout methods.  This Saturday’s (6/20) tryouts have been canceled and a new format will be implemented. As disappointing as this may be, keeping our soccer families healthy and safe is foremost. LFC will be resuming normal soccer activities as soon as we begin Phase 3. The updated tryout process for the 2020 fall season is as follows… All players who were on an LFC travel team fall of 2019, will be offered a “return spot” to play and continue their soccer development into fall 2020. Roster discussions will be ongoing while we are building the teams. Please be aware, club teams will be formed as the numbers permit during the offer acceptance process. Player ages will be a deciding factor in finalizing team rosters. All players will be informed when and how to complete the registration process. Player Notifications will be sent out to all those who signed up to attend the June 20^th tryouts. Any new players to the area or the club, will sign up for an age appropriate tryout session.
