LFC Reminder: Indoor Games Start Tomorrow

Just a reminder to all LFC parents and players,
Our indoor season starts this Saturday and we still have some loose ends to tie up real quick…
1- We still have a couple players who have not submitted or notarized Medical Release forms.
2- I have contacted other parents and players in regards to signing the SCOR Player Waiver
(Your electronic signature is needed to complete your player profile)
3- All Players are required to login to their player accounts and RSVP to each weeks game.
(Please try to have this done by the Wed. prior to your next game)
4- All 3 teams will wear their “Blue Kit”: Blue/White Jersey, Black shorts & Blue Socks.
(You will  ALWAYS bring your alternative Kit as a back up!)
5- Wear your LFC Sweatshirt and Training pants over your Kits to every game.
6-  It is recommended that all players arrive at least one hour prior to their scheduled game time. Be completely dressed out and ready to play. We will use this time to stretch, go over formations/tactics & scout other teams we will be playing.

7-  Always remember you represent Louisa Futbol Club, which means you are to be on your best behavior at all times.
DO NOT…use profanity, criticize other teams/players or be disruptive while games are in session. You will not be disrespectful to  coaches, staff, referees, players or parents. GOT IT!

LFC Fall/Winter Update

Parents and Players

FALL SEASON WRAP UP:
We would like to thank everyone for their participation this fall. Both teams had a great season and we are extremely proud of their progression. We have enjoyed watching them play and grow their skills.

Now that the fall season is over we would like to try something different. This year we would like each player to select two players from their team. They will vote for a Most Valuable Player and Most Improved Player. We think this would be something fun for the teams to participate in. The coaches will provide ballots at Tuesday and Thursdays practice. If for some reason players will not be at practice either day this week then we will also take submissions via email. Players can email louisafc@louisafc.com with their submissions. All submissions are due by 11:59pm Thursday November 13th. On Friday November 14th the coaches and staff will tally the votes and annouce the winners from the boys and girls team for a total of 4 players. Please remember you are voting for two members of your current team, one for MVP and one for most improved player.

WINTER INDOOR SEASON:
We apologize for the delay in getting the information in about the indoor season. We were trying to have as many items taken care of as possible that you would be asking about. We will be moving forward with an indoor season again this year. This year however we will be playing at SCOR in Richmond. Coaches and Staff have spoke to the management and scheduling team at SCOR and they expressed much interest in working with us this indoor season especially on scheduling so that we could make sure all teams were in the same place around the same time to minimize on travel. We are also in the final stages of finalizing a practice location. At this time it looks like we will be practicing at Louisa County Middle School in the Middle School indoor gymnasium. This will allow us to keep a central practice location as well as maintain the current practice schedule on Tuesday and Thursday from 6-7:30pm. We plan to be in the gym by the second week in december for practice. In the mean time we will continue to hold practice at the middle school softball field under the lights, weather permitting.

The cost for indoor will be $90 per player with a $20 registration fee that is required by SCOR. The current plan is to roster three teams, a U16 girls team as well as U15 and U18 boys teams. In order to make sure that we can roster all three teams we would like to ask for a commitment and registration fees turned in by parents/players by Thursday November 13th. SCOR needs our commitment, dues, and team rosters as soon as possible in order to meet our scheduling requirements. The registration form can be downloaded from the website under the “Forms” section (http://www.louisafc.com/forms)

The Winter 2014/2015 session will start the weekend of December 13th the teams will play one game prior to the Holiday, and then resume play the weekend of January 3rd & 4th.

CHRISTMAS PARADE
Coaches and staff are currently making plans for LouisaFC to participate in the Louisa Christmas Parade on Saturday December 6th. We will provide more details as they are available.

Please reach out the coaches and staff with any questions or concerns.

Again we thank you all for your participation and dedication and look we forward to an exciting winter season

LFC Fall Update

Parents and Players,

Just want to pass on some club news, as we prepare to kick off our fall travel season.

SOCA: Fall game schedules for both girls and boys teams have been posted below. Please take note that both teams will share a few home games on the same Saturday. We would like to ask that all players and parents be present for both of these games.  It is very important and much appreciated to see you guys out there showing your support for the club, coach’s, teammates and friends.

Team Sweatshirts/Training Kits: Louisa Futbol Club sweatshirts have arrived! We will be handing them out to all participating fall players after practice this Thursday (8-28-14). Club emails were sent out earlier to inform and explain to everyone the fall training kit purchases. LFC will provide sweatshirts and players are responsible for their own pants. (LFC recommends the…Adidas Tiro 13 Training Pant)

Practice Sessions:  Practice time is a necessity for your child’s continued soccer development and team progression! The LFC Coaching staff takes a lot of time and effort in planning the weekly curriculum for these sessions. All LFC players need to take practice time more seriously! It is extremely important that everyone understands the need to be focused and attentive while participating in these sessions. They must give 100% of themselves all the time and be committed to increasing their skills. Parents please help us enforce….That LFC is a soccer club not a social club! All personal and conversations and social gatherings should not be the focus while at practice. It should be about soccer and soccer only! Footballers should be thinking all the time of what they and their club needs to work on in order to consistently get better. Keep in mind the majority of surrounding travel clubs we compete against practice on an average 4 to 5 days a week.  LFC is unable to do this for many reasons…family schedules, work, school, field availability, logistics, etc. We understand these things and have been trying to find a balance for Mom & Dad.  Your time is valuable and the commitment to family and school is always to come first. So we have decided on an earlier practice dismissal time of 7:45 on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. (Cutting out 45 min of much needed practice) Keep in mind with the shortened practice times, footballers will be required to arrive on time, committed to learning and should attend all scheduled team practices! (Note: If players do not put forth the needed effort and show progression with the shortened practices… additional time will be added back to the sessions.)

Inspirational Quotes to share with  your footballer:

“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all…a love what you are doing or learning to do!” Pele

“There is a difference between Interest and Commitment. When you are interested in doing something, you do it only when it’s convenient. When you’re committed to something, you except no excuses; only results.” Unknown

“Good players inspire themselves…Great players inspire others.” Unknown

“Today I will do what others won’t, so tomorrow I can do what others can’t.” Unknown

Thank You,
LFC Coaches and Staff
