Firecracker 3v3 Winners: Grizzlies

Congratulations to the Grizzlies and Coach Jim Schweikart, our 1st place finishers in the Firecracker 3v3 Tournament.

We would also like to thank the players and coaches of the other teams who participated as well as all of the parents and volunteers for supporting this event. We look forward to hosting an event like this again in the near future.

Firecracker 3v3 Tournament

The LFC Summer Skills Training Camp will culminate with the Firecracker 3v3 Tournament at 9 am on Saturday, July 5 at Jouett Elementary School.

The tournament will use a double elimination format so each team will play at least two games. Fields and goals will be of a size commensurate to the amount of players on the field. Game play will be 15-minute half’s with trophies being awarded to the top team’s players.

Referees will be provided by LFC and LASA. Uniforms are the responsibility of the teams. Cleats and shin guards are required.

Concessions will also be available at the tournament.

Battle in the Blueridge

Parents and Players

This weekend will be the last tournament in June before our next tournament in August. We are hoping for some better weather this weekend and looking forward to this tournament as LFC placed well here last year. In the mean time a couple of items.

1.) Parents please remind your players to stay hydrated this week. Players should be drinking 10-12 cups of water a day avoiding drinks with caffeine or high fructose corn syrup, and no carbonated sodas. “Energy drinks” such as Red Bull contain caffeine and should be avoided also.

2.) The tournament will be located at the Shenandoah Soccerplex the address and directions are located below

I-81 to Exit 269 Shenandoah Caverns. Turn east off the exit ramp towards Route 11; at the stop sign turn left onto Rt. 11 North. In approximately 1/8 of a mile turn left onto Koontz Drive. Follow straight to the Soccerplex.

5.) The team will kick off Saturday in their Blue and White stripes with black shorts and blue socks.
